I understand that you it's not possible so this question is entirely theoretical, but would you use narrated audios if you could? Or would you always stick to the original soundtrack?

My ideal Recon would be on DVD with 2 audio tracks, with the original and a narrated soundtrack to choose from.

Ah, but the problem there is that the original and narrated soundtracks are not always the same lengths - sometimes on the narrated soundtracks there are sections of the original sound that are altered to allow for a longer amount of narration than is possible in the unaltered recordings.

Yeah I know that mate, it wouldn't happen anyway. It was just a theoretical question. There are always ways around it though, if it was Blu-ray I think they could add extra video as well.

Why would you need a narrated soundtrack when you have text cues to link when it's not clear?

Bleeding hell this is hard work! It's only a simple question

Some people may prefer narrated audio's to cues?

Nope, i'm quite happy with narration when i listen in my car but i would find it intrusive when watching on a TV, the screen should show what is neccessary

You listen to them in your car, while driving?

I've done that myself, however....

I prefer the original soundtrack and the text cues running at the bottom of the tv screen. But would they be able to fit both on one DVD?

You could have alternative audio tracks and have the cues as subtitles (though i'm not sure if you could have them running or not) so, apart from the aforementioned extended narration bits, it would be quite easy to do

I love The Macra Terror , iv'e got the LC recon but not the official audio as it tisn't a member of the original cast narrating it , plus do you really need both?

My destiny is in the stars, and to see the day when all 108 missing eps of Doctor Who and Shada are recons and or animations on dvd!

I have a recon of Power of the Daleks on DVD which uses the audio - both narrated by Tom Baker and Anneke Wills, plus the original, which was extended to match the narrated audios. Very well done though.

Pefer unnarrated though. Better that way on video/DVD.. Save the narrated stuff for my iPod.

What do you mean we don't need Macra, from what i can see from the recon and the surviving clips it was a good story , with one of the first instances of a Docotr's compainion turning evil/Posesssed (Ben ( Michael Craze) , who in my opinion along with (Poly(Anneke Wills( were severley underated doctor who companions!

I believe Steamhead was paraphrasing a line from the old American western, "Treasure of the Sierra Madres".

"Show us your badges!"

"Badges?!? We don't need no stinking Badges!"

I have no idea who put them together (it's most definitely not LC), but I have DVD recons of "The Power of the Daleks", "The Evil of the Daleks", "The Abominable Snowmen" and "The Ice Warriors" that uses the narrated soundtracks and they're really quite excellent.

My preference in non narrated recons. The only issue I have with the text cues is sometimes you cant read them as they are sometimes out of focus or go by to quickly.
