So color me curious. I LOVE the LC recons! Yet, I suspect the majority of you guys don't have them.

I'm curious as to why?

Any insights would be appreciated!

If LC could distribute them on a format other than videotape, I'd have gotten copies already. Every recorded show my family watches nowadays is either on disc or a digital copy. It's been over a year, maybe a year and a half, since I last watched anything on tape. I'm not even sure my VCR still works.

I think i have a copy of just about ever recon ever made, including the old Richard Devlyn/Robert Franks ones, Harry Achatz DMP1 with the scary eyes and even Zeropolis own version of Moonbase!

Actually thinking about it I don't think i have the Devlyn/Franks version of Wheel in Space (Not the JV Version, i have that) but i'm not too bothered now anyway, though great at the time the RDRF ones have certainly aged

I have JV recons of Wheel, Web and Evil. They are good for their time, but I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing what LC can do with Evil!!!

I have a lot of them, and I also have downloaded some of the narrated audios from iTunes. It really just comes down to how much time I have to watch things, and with the DVD releases and new series, Torchwood, etc, I haven't gotte around to getting them all.

Love them, though - Power of the Daleks became my favorite Troughton story after watching the LC Recon.

My dear, nobody could be as stupid as he seems.

I've got all but three LC recons (they're on order), and when "The Smugglers" is ready I'll order a batch of upgrades.

The last new recon I have is LC's Ice Warriors. Due to not using videotape much these days hinders things a little.

I have been working on and off on a revised version of The Moonbase over the years and I'm planning a special version of Mission to the Unknown with very unusual visuals. (PS - who thinks a remake of this would make a perfect Christmas special)

For me its the difficulty with the format. Dont use VHS here so after getting tapes, sending them off for copies (so many) then getting them back, VHS from loft to the transfer to disc... all so much work seeing as they have done quite a few.

Sad really that I get put off by that.

My posting name is usually BobSpoons but my real name is Alex. Just thought Id add that to avoid confusion folks.

My main problem is a lack of a VHS player and I don't really have the room to keep VHS's, I barely have the room to keep DVD's.

So Russ, when are you releasing them on Blu-Ray in hi-def?.

I don't have any recons yet but I use my VHS player all the time. I don't trust DVD-Rs and if I did try to transfer everything it would take months.

I don't think anyone actually keeps the VHS's on the shelves, just copies them to DVD and prints off a DVD cover from the net, maybe bungs the VHS in the loft.

Sadly DVD's etc aren't an option for distribution

I would put them in the loft but I doubt my upstairs neighbours would appreciate me going into their house.

That's precisely what I do. I dub them to DVD then box the originals away in the basement just in case.

Although it's the very reason they still exist, I can't for the life of myself get them. VHS.

I appreciate the work and all and I got Fury from the Deep and Invasion, but won't get any of them anymore. Not because I don't like them, it's just that I'm on the go all the time because of the nature of my work and it's a bit hard to carry a vhs around

'sides, the last VHS player I had seemed to acquire a taste for Fury of the deep and required some (un)skilled surgery. Alas, it's bereft of life. It has ceased to exist. It's an ex-vhs.

Well! .......That really hits the nail on the head then doesn't it! .......ouch!!!

Couldn't we (as a forum) find a home for those tapes? Pass them on to the next person as it were. No sharing on DVD, just 'rent' the tapes out.

Well for me it was the format too. But I've seen the light and received three on vhs recently. We've still got a vcr so that's not a problem. Likely as not I'll buy a vcr dvdr combo and transfer them that way.
