The new Evil recon has now been released http://www.recons.com/recons/lc31.htm

Russ and Dean have done a fantastic job on this one, aided by some incredible CGI from Stuart Palmer and Iz Skinner. Enjoy!

I'm reminded of the I Love Lucy episode where Lucy never had enough time to get everything done. So she had the great idea of adding two hours onto every day. It worked great for her for about three weeks before she realized she's lost two days at the end of the month.

Very little could actually be done with Massacre, no potential for CGI and most of the guest stars are still pretty hard to find so DVD source material isn't really a factor like it was for Myth Makers, the others could do with some work, if only someone could add an extra 24 hours to the day...

And you really need to get some of the LC Recons! They're amazing! I'd recommend starting with Evil of the Daleks and The Daleks' Masterplan!

That's probably going to be on my next batch... me and my wife are going through a Troughton marathon from beginning to end, then after that, I think we'll have to go through all of Hartnell, including the recons that neither of us has seen before for these (excepting The Crusades)...

There's always room for improvement at the recons! You should give it a shot bshepp, or talk to LC--maybe they can make use of some of your skills!
bshepp Posted - 06 Apr 2009 : 14:26:37
I haven't seen any of these LC Recons but they sound great, I would love to try my hand at a recon after all these years but I suspect they are probably all done now.
xylok b Posted - 05 Apr 2009 : 22:12:18
I sent away for my recons on the 1st of March near enough i need to check and see if Steeve Woolfall got them.

Awesome job Russ!

I just finished watching my copy the other day and have to say that it was fantastic. The last couple episodes were particularly impressive and it was easy to forget for much of episodes 6 & 7 that this is a recon since it seemed as though there was action in just about every scene.

We say allow to a month, sometimes it can be far quicker but dubsites do this in their spare time and other things can pop up
grantweiler Posted - 26 Feb 2009 : 23:10:03
Im dying to see this. How long do the dubbers normally take to send the tapes out as I sent my postage and stuff to a dubber just over 2 weeks ago?
toxicspurge Posted - 14 Jan 2009 : 20:47:17
Hey Russ,

I heard a nasty rumor about you! Is it true you try to get at least 4 hours of sleep a night and that if you didn't, we'd have the recons much faster?!?

Say it ain't so Russ!!

Say it aint so!
Russ Posted - 14 Jan 2009 : 20:26:13
Thats very kind of you, as i said in the making of it was one of the scenes that were really troubling me, Castle De'Ath was an absolute godsend, once i saw it i had hoped to use more clips than just the one of Steed ducking but the extra kilt made that impossible, it's quite amazing the sets matched so well, even the same suit of armour! The Sea Devils photos were a handy bonus
Octofishpie Posted - 14 Jan 2009 : 20:06:33
it's a terrific recon. The cgi is great, I expect nothing less from Stuart, but Iz's rope climbing section, especially Kemel's leap to the balcony, was a revelation. A word of praise is also due to the fantastic editing together of stills to recreate the sword fight.
tygerbug Posted - 14 Jan 2009 : 14:27:55
It was a very good recon.

I hope that you lot are in touch with Hastran over at Who3D.co.uk, who has modelled the Servo robot from Wheel in Space and generally done a ton of work on that serial. He is, quite simply, the man to get in touch with when you do Wheel in Space.

Iz Skinner is the one for Web of Fear.

Russ, you realize after EotD, that our expectations for The Faceless Ones are going to be pretty darn high, right? :)

Have to add my agreement to that - a truly excellent recon.

Thanks for that go to Stan Rust, who should really have had a credit on the making of, for showing me how to achieve that in After Effects

The lack of Telesnaps for some sections were very well covered by the CGI and Grims Dyke footage (see the article in the link below).
Well done to everyone.

I loved the scene with Victoria and the Daleks in the corridor filmed at Grims Dyke, the camera angle is absolutely spot on, as is the Victoria costume.

Derek's kitchen wasn't sacrificed in vain either...

I'd like to thank Russ, Dean, Stuart and Iz for all their hard work on this latest recon.

It's absolutely brilliant and I loved every single minute of it.

Well done and thank you, chaps!

My copy arrived yesterday, from my super dubber

Excellent reconstruction and interviews as well......and the story is fantastic - what more could you ask?!

I watched the inteviews with Sonny Caldinez and John Peel last night. Those were awesome! Sonny totally cracked me up! He'd be awesome to hang out at a pub with over a beer! I also LOVED listening to John Peel's stories about interacting with Terry Nation! I'm so glad you were able to get these guys interviewed and included in posterity for these topics!

You've gotta get it Ianj! It's fantastic!
