I've now got the most recent versions of all the Loose Cannon recons except for "The Tenth Planet," which was pulled before I started collecting.

Lovely work on the new versions of "The Highlanders" and "The Savages." I particularly like the cast and crew interviews -- it's nice to get that insider's perspective. I hadn't realized until I saw the Peter Purves interview on "The Savages" that he and Maureen O'Brien had been fired (well, not had their contracts renewed, anyway) rather than leaving voluntarily. It left me wondering: besides Adrienne Hill and Colin Baker, what other Doctor Who regulars were pushed out of the series rather than leaving on their own?

Thats the way Anneke tells it but I'm sure I have read interviews with members of the production team who said something else.

We interviewed Peter backstage at the Flight Through Eternity convention and he was brilliant, very happy to help out and totally professional. There were a few things in there I hadn't heard before also, its funny how new comments and facts come out in interviews.

My favourite comment was his only memory of Savages was Clare Jenkins (Nanina) lucious legs!!

Its a bit difficult to tell really isnt it? Actors and staff may not necessarily spill the beans completely on what was going on. I rather got the impression, reading between the lines, that Troughton and his crew were edged out by the BBC for not towing the line enough in terms of working every day of the week 24 hours and so forth. Not certain on that though, just speculation really.
Im looking forward to seeing those interviews soon as well.
