I have a few questions regarding the forthcoming video reconstructions of The Web of Fear and The Wheel in Space which I hope you will do your best to answer:
- Will Stuart be creating Mark 2 Yeti for The Web of Fear, and are the following features being considered for inclusion on the tape: a mini-reconstruction of the specially recorded trailer for the story, featuring Patrick Troughton talking to the camera/audience on the London Underground tunnel/platform set; and a follow-up to When Yeti Attack from The Abominable Snowmen (LC25), featuring more spoof out-takes from Stuart's computer of CGI Yeti getting it wrong? This could be called When Yeti Attack Again. (Stuart can feel free to use this title if he can't think of anything better.)
- Even though it will probably have to be redone from scratch, is there any possibility of the 'March of the Cybermen' montage, as originally featured on The Tenth Planet (LC04, withdrawn), being included on The Wheel in Space -- bearing in mind that this will be the last 1960s Cybermen story to released in video reconstruction form? This would give those who missed it the first time round (such as myself!
) the opportunity to see it for the first time. - With The Tenth Planet and The Power of the Daleks (LC10) both off-limits as far as the 'Revised Edition' treatment is concerned (the former because it remains a potential BBC DVD release, and the latter due to BBC Audio's own video reconstruction of the story in the form of the MP3-CD release), will Loose Cannon Productions be continuing to operate even after The Web of Fear and The Wheel in Space have both been released, and there'll be (dare I say it?!) no more missing and/or incomplete 1960s Doctor Who adventures left to reconstruct?
With regard to the CGI Yeti, even though I hear those as used in The Abominable Snowmen were met with mixed feelings, I think Mark 2 versions should definitely be created for The Web of Fear. After all, there's only so much that the telesnaps, on-screen captions and photo composites can put across during the action sequences in the story where no 16mm Black & White Film footage exists...
Keep up the good work; I'm greatly looking forward to seeing The Faceless Ones (Revised Edition). |

1) I'm sure all posibilities for Web of Fear will be considered at the appropriate time
2) Same answer!
3) Its quite possible they will be considered, obviously both those items have been out for a long long time now and any recon of ours is unlikely to impact sales
