Posted - 22 Apr 2009 : 21:32:27 Faceless Ones is an awsome story, one of my faviroutes off all time, it won't be high on the list sadly though! Unfortuantely DMP would be 10 episodes not 9 as we are forgetting Mission To The Unknown, so the chances of doing it is very slim, i'd love to see the Faceless Ones though! But hey, turns out the chances of doing any at all are extremely slim! |

Posted - 21 Apr 2009 : 21:19:29 Well outside of the obvious Tenth Planet, Moonbase or Ice Warriors, which episodes do you think would have been near the top of the list? |

To be fair Richard, 2|E did solicit animation proposals shortly thereafter!
I'm not saying that they didn't, but to believe that The Daleks' Master Plan would have been anywhere near the top of the list for possible animation candidates would be naive in the extreme!

If anyone was begging, then it was a *tiny* handful of individuals, and if they ever thought that nine episodes would be in line to be animated, they needed their heads examining!

Posted - 21 Apr 2009 : 18:51:54 No really i'm sorry!); I just get so frustrated, it's not your fault mate! I remember when Invasion was first released people were begging for a Daleks Masterplan animation, was DH listening, fat chance! It's a waste of time if this is going to be the only classic DW animation ever, i'd of thought Tenth Planet would take priority over Invasion, so no it's nothing special if it's the only one in 10 years! |

Posted - 21 Apr 2009 : 00:10:42 You know what? Fine. You win Nick.
You're right. Dan Hall is going to animate ALL missing eps AND release them as recons on the same dvds for those who don't like animation. They'll all be out within the next three years. We've all known about this for awhile, but Dan Hall wanted us to keep it as a surprise for you, but you've figured it out! Keep your eye on Amazon.com.uk for their listings soon! |

Posted - 21 Apr 2009 : 00:06:07 The 50% have already been released on DVD though.
You seem to have a lot of trouble understanding this Nick, so I'll try and be as straight-forward as possible.
As long as Dan Hall is in charge of 2|E, the odds of seeing a recon on a DVD is very, very, very, very, very, very low. |

Posted - 20 Apr 2009 : 20:48:48 Surley the Crusade and the Moonbase though , 50% of the stories are still there! |

Posted - 20 Apr 2009 : 16:24:59 I think Dan would rather gnaw off his arms and legs, than go down do the recon route then? |

No. They. Won't.
The BBC is under no obligation to release recons, and Loose Cannon certainly cannot try and release them on DVD under the bizarre pretense that 'since the BBC won't do it, then we can'. There are a myriad of shows never released on DVD (like the 1960's Bat-Man) or never completed on DVD (such as series like King of the Hill) because the studio has decided not to continue with it. Does that make it legal to download it, or for someone else to release it on DVD? Of course not.
And whether Dan Hall's right or not when it comes to releasing reconstructions/animations on DVD, the fact is that he runs the line, and it's his call as to what's on the DVDs. Plus fans can whine until the cows come home about how audios are boring and animations are cool, but until enough people buy the DVDs to make them profitable then we're unlikely to get anything more, and certainly not going to get anything more than the 'fill in the gap' stories of The Ice Warriors, The Tenth Planet and The Reign of Terror. It's been 2 years since The Invasion, and I've really not seen any outcry about the animations - most of the time it's just some disappointed grumbling. |

Posted - 19 Apr 2009 : 20:08:15 I think Dan Hall should experinment with animations, and recon cutdowns as extras, if he really is a Doctor Who fan, which from what i hear is mainly Colin Baker era, which to be frank most of was sh*te, with a few exceptions! And it sounds like he is more of a fan of JNT than the actuall show itself! I think that if worse comes to worst, which may not necessairly be a bad thing they wil have to let LC release recons on dvd, because they're not prepared to release them themselves, which i think they will do eventually as they did for the vhs release of Reign, Ice Warriors and Tenth Planet! I don't think we should be so pessimistic i'm sure they will eventually as fans call for more animations and become bored with audios, as let's face it most of the younger generation are, for instance i find the audio version of Masterplan only a shadow of what it was originaly meant to represent, i prefer the excellent visuals in the LC recon! |

Posted - 19 Apr 2009 : 13:19:09 Exactly. Best case scenario, we'll see some sort of completion for Reign, Tenth and Ice Warriors. Worst case scenario, I'm hoping we get the existing eps vid-fired. |
| Another Ian |
Posted - 19 Apr 2009 : 12:59:59 I don't think they have any incentives to do anything for the missing episodes - it's the existing episodes that require stories completing for DVD that will hopefully get things done.
They have no urgency for them to address the wider problem. Ironically if one episode was found they would then have to deal with the rest of the story ASAP. |

But that was a long time ago and things have changed. He also commissioned Galaxy 4 and decided not to include it. Just face it - there will be no more recons on DVD!
Besides this, it has already been announed War Games is due out this year, and so all extras will have already been finalised and delivered a long time ago. I can assure you there isn't a recon of Space Pirates included!
But isnt he limiting himself, animation or nothing it seems. Unless he has some sort of masterplan, that animations are going to be the norm? |

| xylok b |
Posted - 16 Apr 2009 : 16:38:26 Yeah it's slightly out dated now, 1999 i believe . Massacre, G4, Power,Reign and mission all need a major face lift. |

Posted - 16 Apr 2009 : 16:30:27 Yeah, I've got all the LC recons. I agree they're good. Would love to see an updated Toymaker! |

Posted - 16 Apr 2009 : 16:27:35 Toxic have you seen the LC versions of the Massacre and Toymaker, if you haven't seen them allready they're really good, the latter is probably due for updating though! |
