No, that sounds more like the old COI version produced by Bruce Robinson, that recon is from around 1996 IIRC and is a very early one if that is the case, The old LC Savages is a vast improvement on that one, let alone the new one!

Well, indeed. I'll have to sort out the new one then. Cheers for the info Russ!

In fact here is the official release of COI Savages and the start of the Change of Identity/Disused Yeti newsletter which evolved into the fanzine Nothing at the end of the lane, edited by the Earl of Bignell!

What the headbanger said!

We don't even know when it will be out as things can go wrong which is why we avoid dates, work is progressing nicely though

Is the original perhaps the worst quality of all LC recons? Re looking at it, it seems virtually un-watchable! (not a criticism, more praise of how bloody great the new ones look!)

Well it obviously depends on how many generations the copy you have is, however the first 7 recons plus the original Highlanders were all mastered the same way which included a rather crude NTSC>PAL conversion so these are certainly worse than later ones (at least for UK viewers) but i don't think its any worse than the others, maybe the telesnaps were darker or something? The JV Web of Fear is impossible to make a lot of the telesnaps out due to the darkness of them for example.

I think it's just that the telesnaps are very blurred with little definition and the audio is very crackly and hard to make out. But it could be my copy, still if the new one is on the way I'll wait for that.

I do have a copy of the Savages, dunno who by (starts with a butterfly) that is really hard to make out.

Well a new Savages is available. I haven't heard of a Savages but there is a torrent of Massacre kicking about somewhere which is the Loose Cannon version which some idiot has put a butterfly logo on and claims it was by Butterfly Effect, stealing credit for the work, I suspect this may be the old LC Savages in the same vein

Really, what a git!!

I don't know, it has the text continually at the bottom. Did the LC ones do that?

This'll be fantastic. I already enjoyed it immensely in the BBC audio version (helped by some blurry telesnaps - I could vaguely make out what was going on!) and the tales John Ringham told of his equestrian adventures. Fitting punishment for Tlotoxl, I'm sure! And Mike Craze is super in this one. As is the ever-reliable George A Cooper. I love this story, can't wait to see it "properly"!!
Baron Porters Posted - 13 May 2008 : 16:50:34
Yeah that telesnaps are so blurred aren't they???
toxicspurge Posted - 12 May 2008 : 22:13:44
agreed.
Adam Posted - 12 May 2008 : 20:50:37
I am looking forward to this, I'll have to see if I can get a copy, the previous version of this is showing it's age!

The Loose Cannon team doesn't usually give a date until it's actually released, but I understand it's progressing quite nicely!
