So which is your favorite LC Recon?

For me it would have to be The Dalek Masterplan! I've watched my copy at least three times. It's so good I actually feel like I've seen the real episodes now!

How about you guys?

Be careful when you talk about The Web of Fear. DWO might misinterpret what you say and print another Web of Fear story on their website. We don't want them to start more rumors about that story being found. What we experienced last fall was quite a disappointment.

My favorite is The Abominable Snowmen. Second place goes to Power of the Daleks because I like that story so much.

You and me both!

I was about to say Fury but.... there's just something about the bad CGI helicopter that puts me off every time. (Apologies if someone here made that, it's just a personal opinion.)

I would have to say... probably either "Galaxy Four" or the revision of "The Macra Terror". "Galaxy Four" was wonderful in that LC brought us a nearly complete episode (thanks to their seamless refilming of much of episode one), and "The Macra Terror" really made me believe that I was watching the real thing. They really brought that story back to life.

Although, of course, commendations are in order for "Master Plan". The amount of work put into this, especially "The Feast of Steven", must have been incredible. I can't wait to see what CGI will be able to do for their upcoming "Evil Of The Daleks" recon.

Well Russ, I did put in a request earlier this week, and assume you are the Russ that replied saying my request would be passed along to someone to help with dubbing copies. I'm looking forward to seeing the new productions!

Thanks for the postings... I have not seen any of these yet and am going to try to obtain copies of some of these - starting with "Dalek Masterplan". I have only a couple of old recons on 3rd or 4th generation VHS tapes years ago (which were great)... But it sounds like they have improved exponentially since then.

In fact I have always though a shop bought VHS has vastly better picture quality than a DVD, for the first few times it's watch anyway.

I think I've said it before, but I watch mine on a 65 inch TV. Aside from the occassional blurring of some of the riders across the bottom of the screen, they look fine to me.

Have you seen the updated version of The Savages?

Agreed!

Hmmm.... I was tempted to put Power of the Daleks, but then I remembered Abominable Snowmen, Dalek's Masterplan, and The Massacre.... So difficult to choose! Those four would be the ones that made me feel like I had actually seen the episodes though.

Dalek Masterplan, the Citizen Kane of recons.
Russ Posted - 30 Apr 2008 : 18:50:16
Masterplan for me, It made such a great story come to life, Massacre is also a great favourite, there was so little of it and to make it work so well took great skill by Rick & Dean

Oh, and Myth Makers too! and Fury...
