Yes, thankfully the generation problem isn't quite as prevalent as a decade ago, I also remember Michael saying somewhere he had used a massive amount of disc space on Tenth Planet, a whopping 2 Gigabytes!!, how times change! |

What I was trying to say (very badly, I might add) was that Palmer's version of 10th planet was not very good compared to LC's recon. It was not meant as a disrespect of his work. Also, I did not have the best copy available. It was probably a 4th or 5th generation, which diminishes the enjoyment. Michael was indeed an innovator. Without him and his work and that of JV, there wouldn't be the great recons we have today, thanks to the LC team. These great missing stories would be audio only. |

Michael used clips from all over the place in it, the ones from Wheel of the planets stick in my mind
And i have to say how much i disagree with who4 over Michaels recon, i thought it was incredible, the amount of time it must have taken him to match up the clips using mid 1990's equipment is vast, sure it looks like a badly dubber foreign film but in my view still works well and is from a time when telesnap was king in recons, movement was more or less ignored. Michael was undoubtedly a pioneer and several of the things that appear in recons today have roots in things he tried and whilst some didn't work he should be applauded for trying |

Just checked both the 'JV' and 1997 Palmer version, and technically there's no clip of the Doctor trudging - there's an indistinct figure walking. At the same time the quality is remarkedly better than the other TP4 clips, suggesting it was taken from one of the existing episodes (if not a different feature entirely!) |

Yes, I know it was Michael Palmer's recon and it wasn't very good. The snipit at the end, of the Doctor going to the Tardis to regenerate was of interest since I didn't see it in any other recon of the 10th Planet, nor did I see it on the Lost in Time DVD. It may be a lost bit of the 10th that only Palmer had access to. Just a thought.. |

Technically its the Michael Palmer version, JV didn't officially release TP (though the Michael Palmer version did have a big JV in the corner - please don't ask me to explain!) I have a copy somewhere and i think you are right though its a long time since i have watched it, that version was very innovative, like watching a badly dubbed film!! |

My copy was erased and I seem to recall about a 3 second snipit of the Doctor (William Hartnell) trudging through the blizzard on his way to the Tardis just before the final regeneration scene. What makes this unusual is that I never saw it in LC's version or the BBC's recon. Someone must have this. |

I wonder if it's got anything to do with the new series coming along - since then the classic series projects like the telesnaps, the e-books and things have gone by the wayside to make way for the latest new series game or whatever.
I have a feeling they went out of their way to get the latest one out (I think it was Evil of the Daleks), and so never got around to finishing Tenth Planet.
As to Marco Polo, I believe they were never uploaded as they're technically the property of Waris Hussein, and so the website doesn't have permission to upload them. |

That's what I figured too - that they weren't up because of the recon on the 10th Planet VHS, and Marco Polo because of the recon on The Beginning DVD. I was hoping they were available someplace else. |
